Scheduling Timeline

January 

  • 1st semester teachers make recommendations for courses in PowerSchool.

  • Rising 10th-12th grade students receive scheduling information for the 2022-2023 school year in English classes. ​

  • BHS Counselors visit the rising 9th grade students at Magothy & Severn River Middle Schools to distribute scheduling forms and provide course options.

  • Evening scheduling presentations for parents @ Broadneck High School

February-March

 

  • Current high school students (Rising 10th-12th grade) will have one-on-one appointments with their School Counselor to discuss course selections, graduation plan progress, etc.  Meetings are scheduled through their English class. 

  • Students will input their course selections using PowerSchool Student Portal and review those choices with their counselor during the course selection meeting.

March 18-First Day of School

  • No schedule change requests can be made.  BHS Administration and Counselors work on determining class periods, assigning teachers, building the master schedule and building individual student schedules.  In order to be equitable to all students, this time is blacked out for changes in order to fulfill every students' initial course requests as best as possible.  Please remember that not every course request may be granted and alternates may need to be used.  

First 10 Days of School

  • Students can receive a copy of their finalized schedule the week before school on specified days/times according to the schedule determined by administration.  At that time, if any changes need to be made, students will need to see Mrs. Troutner, Assistant Principal who oversees scheduling, in the cafeteria during the first 10 school days.  All schedule change requests must meet the Board Policy for Schedule Changes.  View that policy here.
